Video 40k Battlereport 2 - Necron vs Orks

Hey guys, another video battlereport (in german) of Necrons - Orks. We actually played 4 rounds. 2 Necrons vs Ork and then 2 Astra Militarum vs Demons but only recorded the first match. I also wrote the fluff for our big battle tomorrow which is basically the kick off for stage 2 of the Vistro Campaign. The story should be up on the Vistro Blog soon. I continued to paint my necrons a little bit but the biggest thing is currently my Astra Militarum.
Bought 2 Leman Russ and a 10 men squad of Dreamforge Eisenkern trooper. I wanted to try them out on a smaller pack and build the first one yesterday and I must say they look pretty good and are easy to assemble. I also love that you don't have any trouble with posing the hands properly with the gun which I often have a problem with the minis from GW. I wish they would have more options for weapons, I know that there are some smgs, RPGs and stuff in the bigger box and the accessory pack but there are no flamers for example or proper grenade launcher, melter etc.
I also primed the leman russ with vallejo USA olive drab and wasn't sure about the color first after looking at some pictures but I must say it's just awesome. I always thought it would have no green in it and be more brownish but it actually has just enough green in it. I will post some pictures soon but now I have to do another layer of the primer to cover everything.
Another small thing, I posted the pictures of my Destroyer Lord a while back who is basically Amunsaro in the campaign. Now I'm actually also working on kitbashing my main Overlord Histeth out of various necron bits. He already looks quite promising but still some work to do. Mostly his offhand and some details maybe here and there.

Painting update

Hey, been busy with painting and building different things. Not much progress on my terrain except base layer on the structures. Worked on another 3 Necron Wraith (love these guys) and some progress on the Tyranids. The base is for bigger tyranids so everything but gants. I also worked on some Imperial Guard and I think I might finally have a scheme.
There was also a match between space marine and chaos space marine. Took some pictures and will try to maybe post something about it.

Video 40k Battlereport 1 - Necron vs Orks

Last Saturday me and Marco met and did some matches against his finally painted 750pts Orks. The paintjob turned out pretty awesome and I was lucky enough to be the first to fight them.
We did 2 matches and recorded both but the lighting conditions turned out to be not that good so he decided to only upload our first match which still had some daylight.
We learned a lot during both matches about 7th edition rule changes and he about his orks. First I played my list of 15 warrior, 9 Immortals, 3 wraith with whipscoils together with a destroyer lord with 2+ armor and mindshackle scarabs and another 3 regular wraith.
Second Match I got rid of my wraith and destroyer lord and had 14 warrior, 8 immortals, 5 lychguard with warscythe together with a cryptek with the I think veil of darkness?... the one that lets you teleport over the board and an overlord with lots of upgrades. So it was a Killsquad worth 450 points and did a looot of killing that match... a lot.

The video is in german and our first of hopefully many to come video battlereports we do. We already planned our next get together to play and improve the reports.
I try to post some miniature updates soon.

 That is probably something that helped me that day. A must have for every Necron after waking up of a long sleep in stasis. I know it's stupid

Battle - Necron vs Chaos Space Marine

This wednesday 2 new players did a small battle against each other. André who plays chaos space marine also joins season 2 on the Vistro campaign. It was 750 points on both sides as our next season will be mostly 750 point battles for the 1on1's. The other player was Marc, who actually bought his first own units and is currently getting into painting things, with my Necrons so he can get a feeling for the game. I was there to... well borrow him my Necrons and to help.
I won't write a big report now but in short it started with a fast advancing chaos army and bad shooting from Marc. But the list I've build for the Necrons was actually not that much dakka (15 warrior and 9 immortals with Tesla) but was slice and dice with 6 wraith (3 whipcoils) and a Destroyer Lord with 2+ armor and mindshackle scarab. Wraith got into close combat pretty quick and the slaughter began. The first assault phase the Lord with his wraith killed a unit of cultists and moved closer to another group of cultists and the csm hq unit (lvl 3 pyromancy psyker with 5 choosens)
The challenge between the Lord and the psyker was... quick. André didn't charge his force weapon and was a normal power weapon so no danger. The Lord on the other hand killed him in return with his attacks 3 wounds with warscythe... blam warlord down. André still had scored a lot of objectives but with almost no troops left and Marc started to draw some nice cards for himself he surrendered and it was a win for Necrons. It was the first contact between Necron and Chaos Space Marines but they will meet each other again on another battlefield. EDIT: Ok I've managed to get stuff in a row and nice aligned but now these are no links and only super small thumbnails. Sorry for that will fix that later.

New Terrain 2

This time I decided to build some Necron terrain for our campaign and of course for fun.
After I went shopping with a friend to get some tools and material I started to do something mor simple first. It's just sooo different from modeling in a 3D app like Max or ZBrush. But after like 1 1/2 hours I managed to have a clean summoning core of the necrons. Currently the sand is drying (not on the pictures) but will show some pics when it's done.

Another thing: I will post some pictures and thoughts about the latest battle between Marco (Dark Eldar) and Mark (Chaos) from thursday. It was our last 1on1 for this season and only 1 match is missing before we go into season 2.

Necrons - Destroyer Lord

Hey guys, I've worked on my HQ choice over the weekend and yesterday managed to finish his base. He most probably will be the leader of my Necron forces in Season 2 of the Vistro Campaign. Here some pictures. Light is not the best, I have to buy some more light I think for better quality and maybe a lightbox at some point.

New Terrain

I found some interesting terrain pieces in a store not far from where I live. They are meant to be for aquariums I think but the scale was just right and they look quite nice in my opinion. The trees were pretty cheap but the stones... well still good enough so I had to buy 2 of those. Trees I bought 2 larger ones like in the picture and 1 that is a little bit smaller but still totally fine for tabletop. Have to check at some point if they restocked some of their aquarium stuff and maybe got some more variation.
I have to admit that I don't get how to properly place your pictures on blogger... the only way seems to be the html mode but I don't really know how to use that.
